No subscription. Every kit is the same price: $18, regardless of grade tier. We charge the same for the high school kit as the elementary kit because the work that goes into them is the same. You buy a kit, you download the PDF, it's yours. Print it as many times as you need for your own kid or your own classroom. New kits release on a monthly drop. Buying one kit does not commit you to anything else, and skipping a month does not lose you anything.
Because the kits are instant digital downloads, we do not offer automatic refunds. That said, if you buy a kit and it is genuinely not what was described, write to us. We read every email and we will make it right. We would rather have a happy buyer than the $18.
That is genuinely common, especially the first time through, and it is not a failure. The kit is built to work even if your kid stops at week three. The skills inside the first three weeks are the most transferable. The Reflection Journal at the end is the same regardless of how far they got. If they ran out of steam, the journal asks why, and the answer is the lesson. You can always come back to the kit. Yours forever.
Build Something Good is values-integrated, not faith-exclusive. The values that show up across the kits are honest reporting, follow-through, treating people with respect, and doing real work in the real world. Those are not religion-specific. The kits do not require any specific faith background to run, and they do not push one. Families across many traditions are welcome.
Real, but bounded. The Parent Intro and the weekly handoff pages tell you exactly what your role is each week. For the elementary kit, expect to be hands-on at the launch and at the wrap. For the middle and high school kits, you are a sounding board and a checkpoint, not the engine. The kit does not assume the parent will write slides or grade rubrics. It assumes you will check in, ask the prompts on the parent pages, and let your kid do the work.
Each kit is sized to a tier. Elementary is grades K–5, middle school is 6–8, and high school is 9–12. Within those tiers, the work scales. A first-grader and a fifth-grader running the same elementary kit will produce different work, both real. If your kid is on the edge between tiers, look at the project itself. A motivated nine-year-old can absolutely run a middle school project with a parent in the room. A first-year high schooler new to entrepreneurship may want to start with the middle school tier.
Yes. The kits are designed to print at home on standard letter paper. Print the whole thing, print only the worksheets you want, or run the whole thing on a tablet. The license covers your own household or your own classroom. Because a real project takes about five weeks if you do it well. A big bundle delivered all at once would mean either rushing through projects or letting most of them sit unused. The monthly drop keeps the pace honest. If a project is right for your kid right now, you buy that one. If not, you wait. The catalog grows, and what you already own is yours.
Yes, and the kits actually work better with a group than alone. Public stakes are part of what makes the projects real, and a group provides those stakes. We have separate licensing paths for homeschool co-ops, microschools, small private schools, classroom teachers, after-school programs, and youth clubs. Most kids' entrepreneurship programs teach about entrepreneurship through worksheets, business plan templates, or video lessons. Build Something Good ends differently: every kit requires a real outcome in the real world. A real transaction with a real stranger, a real fundraiser that delivered real money to a real organization, a real service delivered to a real paying client. A completed worksheet with no real-world action is a failed project, not a finished one. That single standard is the difference. See the comparison.
Three tiers, calibrated by age. Elementary kits are for kindergarten through grade 5 (roughly ages 5 to 11), with most projects working best for grades 3 to 5 and parent-led for K to 2. Middle school kits are for grades 6 to 8 (roughly ages 11 to 14). High school kits are for grades 9 to 12 (roughly ages 14 to 18) and run with student ownership and a parent backstop. The structure is the same across all three tiers; the complexity scales.
No. The kits are written for parents who do not have business or teaching backgrounds. Each one comes with a parent intro that walks you through your role week by week, plus conversation prompts for moments when you are not sure what to say. Your job is not to teach, it is to make the work possible. The Skills Scaffolding pages do the actual teaching by showing the kid what right looks like through annotated worked examples.
No. Build Something Good is values-integrated but not faith-exclusive. The kits embed values like contribution, fair dealing, honest reporting, and giving back into how the projects work, rather than as a religious overlay. Families of any faith background, or no faith background, run them. If you are looking for an explicitly Christian or other faith-based entrepreneurship curriculum, BSG is not that, and we are honest about that up front.
Five weeks per kit. The structure is consistent across every project and every tier: Week 1 is onboarding (read the brief, set the goal, plan the weeks). Week 2 is build (make the thing or draft the campaign). Week 3 is launch (go live in front of real people). Week 4 is run and adjust (operate with real feedback). Week 5 is reflect (close out, write the honest report). Sessions can be daily or weekly. The five-week shape does not change.
